Happy New Year (and News)

Happy 2013 everyone! I know you're probably wondering where the heck I've been. Well I've gotten a new job. A new fulltime job in my field and am embarking on a new chapter of my life. As exciting as this is, it is also a bit bitter sweet. I know work 6 days a week and won't be able to to sew regularly.

I still plan on making all my patterns and posting pictures and words about them, but unfortunately I will have to do it much more sporadically. I know all of you out there can understand how much time goes into sewing and how difficult it can be to balance it with work.

But it's not the end, I still love blogging and I still plan to keep this blog going in a more personal way. I want to share snippets of all the things I love as well as sewing, maybe even with the occasional video post.

So I'll see you soon!

Thanks for everything!

  1. Hi Dominique,

Happy New Year to you!And good luck with your new job!
And, bittersweet though these news may be, it will allow the slowest of the persons who read your blog and try to take part in "The Complete Colette" along with you, to follow you more easily!
Personnaly i can totally relate to how a full-time job can get in the way of your sewing...
I've just finished the Violet, and once I'm done with my current sewing project (I am presently trying to overcome my fear of trousers, and I can say it's not going too bad...) I'll be ready to follow along with you as I tackle the Ceylon!
Speaking of which, how is it going on for your own Ceylon?
Also - even though I don't think I'm going to make it - I really like your fabric choice for your future Lady Grey coat, it's very original!

    xoxo

  2. I love the idea of this blog! Your own personal Julie/Julia!

I found your blog by blog-hopping from Gertie's New Blog..., to someone else, to you!

I've only made the Beignet so far, but I just began sewing in April 2012 and started a blog to chart my progress. I have 5 more patterns (an anniversary gift!) to sew eventually, but as you said work and life get in the way sometimes!

I look forward to following your (more sporadic) blog & perhaps you can share your sewing history as well? I'm always interested how people started off. Thanks!
